Job Description

The main responsibilities of my role included:

- Taking joint-ownership and day-to-day management of the council website and Intranet
- Ongoing improvement of the site features and interface, including developing the site structure (4000+ pages of information), online forums, online forms, integrating RSS feeds, and much more
- Sourcing and optimising images and documents for the site
- Researching information and copy writing on a variety of topics
- Training, mentoring, and co-ordinating a team of 40+ authors around the council
- Researching and evaluating new web developments and software e.g. text-only tools, speech rendering tools, emerging government metadata standards
- Producing marketing material to promote the council website
- Leading on the roll-out of the corporate CRM system
- Development for the web-based CRM system using XML and Javascript in addition to business analysis, business process re-engineering, and replicating business processes in an electronic format
- Leading on working with departments to introduce electronic workflows to their areas

In my first year in the position I helped develop the council site to be a joint-top district council website in the country.
